How the process starts:
The one-on-one personal training process begins with you making an appointment for a consultation. This is the first step. This is for people who know they are ready to begin a lifestyle change and the start of you and your trainer getting to know each other. We recommend you having plenty of questions to ask. At the consultation you will be asked about your current exercise patterns, your goals, as well as any past injuries or areas of concern. A short review of your medical history, body composition measurements followed by a short fit test to access your strength and conditioning levels. We can then formulate an ongoing personal exercise program just for you and set attainable goals.
The one-on-one training focuses on your individual needs. The trainer will provide the leadership, motivation and inspiration you will need to reach and maintain your personal fitness goals. We will be working with you every step of the way.

What is functional fitness training?
Functional fitness exercises train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks by stimilating common movements you might do at home, at work or in sports. While using various muscles in the upper and lower body at the same time, functional fitness exercises also emphasize core stability. For example, a squat is a functional exercise because it trains the muscles used when you rise up and down from a chair or pick up low objects. By training your muscles to work the way they do in everyday tasks, you prepare your body to preform well in a variety of common situations. This type of training can make everyday activities easier, help reduce your risk of injury and improve your quality of life.
Other examples may include aerobic, body weight movements and weightlifting. Exercise tools, such as fitness balls, kettlebells and bands are often used.

Motivation and Celebration. Hearing a trainer celebrate your consistency, progress, or even proper technique can be a real boost when you feel like throwing in the towel.

Hello my name is KC and I am the owner of FOCUS personal training studio. I have 11 years of experience in the fitness industry focusing on personal training and group fitness. I am passionate about helping to improve my client's lives and empowering them to be more confident. Although balancing family and a career may be tough sometimes, I believe that finding time for yourself and your health is very important. This is why I opened up FOCUS so I can continue to help day after day. Commitment and dedication on both ends is key to personal success!
